Paint With Me #1

Moth & Butterfly, Watercolor & Ink

I hope you enjoy this calm little moth and butterfly ‘paint with me’ speed paint session.

I was inspired to paint these guys from looking through a book I picked up at my local library called “Butterflies of the World” by H.L Lewis. It is an amazing book with a billion little images of colorful butterflies and moths which are great reference material for color combos and patterns.

I have been really looking into painting from nature lately, we have been going out every Sunday for a picnic to get out of the house (pandemic fatigue). My eldest and I have been sitting and drawing what ever we see infront of us and there has been a lot of butterflies fluttering around – but they are too fast, hence the reference book.
