Closer Look
Black Soho Urban Artist India Ink
An artist’s first impression, review, and swatching of the very reasonably priced (cheap) Soho Urban Artist India Ink purchased from Jerry’s Artarama (from a previous art supply haul). The Jerry’s Artarama site describes it as a “fast-drying, permanent, deep-black India ink” that “is perfect for detailed works and gestural strokes.
They say to use “SoHo India Ink for Sumi-E and Chinese calligraphy, for dip-pen drawing and comic book inking, for calligraphy on invitations and cards, for tonal underpaintings and quick gestural sketches, or thin with water for use in airbrushes and fountain pens.”
This relaxing in-depth look at the Soho India Ink should give you a good glimpse as to how it really performs.
